People who look like fictional characters

Animated films and television shows are not just for children, although the majority is. We have shows like Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama, as well as films like Shrek, Tangled, Ratatouille, and Up. What’s special here is the amount of men and women who look just like the real animated characters but in live action format. We always wondered if cartoon characters were based on real people and the way they look or the other way around, here we see a little of both.

Cynthia from Rugrats

Teen queen Miley Cyrus had her hair looking a lot like Cynthia from Rugrats when she was sporting the blonde tipped spiky do. Rugrats was a television show that aired on Nickelodeon from 1991 until 2004. Cynthia was the poor doll of less than perfect toddler Angelica Pickles. She didn’t look like a regular barbie since Angelica always used her for experiments and was less than gentle with her.

Mother Gothel from Tangled

Mother Gothel was the villain in the animated film Tangled. In order to stay young forever, she needed the hair of the kingdom’s princess so she kidnapped her and raised her as her own. We won’t spoil the end for you but actress Lisa Edelstein is a live version of Mother Gothel. The dark hair, blue eyes, and that tough look is identical! For those of you who haven’t seen the movie yet, whether you are young or not, you should see it.

Mr. Burns from The Simpsons

Mr. Burns was one of the least-loved characters on The Simpsons. Over the years the character has made some trouble for the main family we love on the show and so he isn’t a fan favorite. Despite not being the main character, he is a vital part of the show. This guy here is a spitting image of Mr. Burns. The resemblance is astounding, we wonder if people stopped him on the street to tell him that.

Mario Brothers

One of the most beloved Nintendo games to date, Super Mario Bros. are legendary even to this day. There have been many remakes of the game, and a newer version fit for a smartphone, but nothing is like the original 80s version. These two men here are the live versions of the brothers, whether they knew it or not. Just look at the overalls and T-shirts! They look confused as to why someone was taking a photo of them, but it was for a good reason.

Mister Spacely from The Jetsons

The Jetsons was an animated comic sci-fi show that aired from 1962 until 1963. Mister Spacely was one of the main characters and has a real life doppelganger – actor Danny DeVito! Between the glasses and the mustache, these two are hard to miss. The show is based on a family that lives in Orbit City and Mister Spacely is actually the boss of the family’s patriarch, George. Much like Mother Gothel, Spacely is the main antagonist of the show.

Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmations

Everyone remembers the evil woman with the half white half black hairdo. Cruella De Vil was obsessed with dalmatians and everything checkerboard black and white. This woman on the left has a serious look on her face and the same black and white hair – you see the resemblance, right? The original 101 Dalmatians animated film came out in 1961 and has been remade into a live action film in 1996.

Merida from Brave

The 2012 film Brave brought the world a young woman heroine who was her own woman in a world where women were supposed to sit pretty. Merida was the main protagonist who had fire red hair and a serious attitude about her own independence. This woman here has the same red hair that Merida has and has it just as wild as the animated character herself. We wouldn’t mess with either one of these girls.

Princess Jasmine from Aladdin

This model took a lesson or two from Princess Jasmine. She has the same long nose, dark hair and eyes and large eyes just like the animated version of Jasmine. This must have been one heck of a Halloween costume that year, she really is the life-size version of her. As we all know, Princess Jasmine is the female protagonist in the Disney film Aladdin who falls in love with him as the adorable ‘street rat’ that he is.

Linguini from Ratatouille

Ratatouille is a film about a rat who helps a young man succeed in a French kitchen by hiding under his hat and pulling his hair to mimic his hands. As unbelievable as a rat helping you cook is, the resemblance between Linguini and this guy is undeniable, and this guy knows it too. He is milking it for all he’s got. The big nose, the curly short hair and that adorable smile can’t be missed!

Russell from Up

Up may be an animated film but it has a very serious underlying theme. The film came out in 2009 and immediately wowed the world – both audiences and critics. Young Russell is a Wilderness Explorer who befriended the main character, Carl, in order to get his final badge. A lot of trouble ensues which we aren’t going to spoil for you, but this kid here is one adorable live version of little Russell.

Mr. Johnson from Sesame Street

Mr. Johnson from Sesame Street looks just like Doctor Phil! Whether this was done on purpose or by accident, the coincidence is a happy one and we love the comparison between the two. Sesame Street is an iconic show that has been around since 1969! Mr. Johnson is not as famous as Big Bird, Cookie Monster or Elmo but he is made of the same comedic material as they are.

This Philippino model thought it would be a good idea to dress like Pocahontas, and she was absolutely right. The model looks just like the animated version of the historical figure (whose story goes very different than the animated version portrayed it). The outfits are the same but the striking thing about the live woman and the animated one is that they still look impressively similar.

Beavis from Beavis and Butt-Head

Beavis and Butt-Head rocked America from 1993 until 2011. The two animated teenagers were all about girls, pranks and getting out of doing things. Both of these young men had abnormally large heads, and so does this guy who looks like the live version of Beavis! The blonde hair, the extra large forehead, and the beady eyes are all Beavis!

Gru from Despicable Me

The best way to describe Gru is as a supervillain since that’s what he calls himself. This guy on the bus wasn’t aware of how much he looks like Gru but his fellow passenger couldn’t help but notice and take a photo of the joyous moment. Despicable Me came out in 2010 and has already had several sequels and spinoffs (thanks to those adorable minions).

Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog

The late legendary musician Prince was a live copy of Dr. Facilier from the film The Princess and the Frog. The film was released in 2010 and was the animated version of the old tale about the princess who kissed the frog to turn him into a prince. Dr. Facilier is a witch doctor who ends up being (not so surprisingly) the bad guy.

Flash from Zootopia

This girl looks just like the sloth! The 2016 film was a fan favorite and this girl became a favorite all over the web with her incredible look. In the film, the sloth is a ‘government representative’ who works incredbly slow, making the rabbit extremely antsy about the whole situation. The film got very good reviews, but not as good as this girl!

Prince Charming from Shrek

Shrek was one of the best-animated films of the early 2000s. It was released in 2001 and has since had three more sequels. This guy here looks just like Prince Charming in the film. The chiseled good looks, blonde hair and upright demeanor are copied and pasted into this guy! The film has celebrity voices such as Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and John Lithgow.

Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons

Singer Rihanna changes her hairdo every two days or so. For a while there, though, she was sporting this red curly hairstyle that had us thinking she looked just like Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons! Everyone loves Sideshow Bob, he is super chill and funny and always gets into trouble, very much like Rihanna now that we think about it. You think she did the hair to look like him on purpose?

Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers band looks very much like Aladdin (it’s all about the hair, honestly). Aladdin is an iconic film that came out in 1992. We have Robin Williams as the Genie, Jonathan Freeman as Jafar and Scott Weinger as Aladdin himself. If Joe Jonas, however, were to put on a red hat, purple vest, and white pants, he would be the exact replica of ‘Prince Ababwa’.

Carmen Sandiego

Remember the famous game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? The red outfit is a dead giveaway. Originating in 1985, we think we finally found Carmen Sandiego and she’s on the subway! The game started out with educational purposes in mind, and quickly gained a lot more momentum and was made into a video game and board game version as well.

Grandma from Tweety

The Halloween costume heard round the world every year is that of the grandma in Tweety. However, here we see an actual older woman who looks just like the animated version of the grandmother who always protects Tweety from the cat that is always out to take a bite out of him. How cute is this woman with her gray top bun and plastic bags?

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

This one is more unfortunate than lucky. This boxer was punched very hard in the right eye to make it swell up to the point of Hunchback of Notre Dame style eye. While it is kind of funny that the guy now looks like the animated character, that punch could not have been a pleasant experience. Oh well, he picked his profession so he knew what he was getting himself into.

Elsa from Frozen

Frozen was one of the biggest animated films of the last five years. Little girls everywhere dressed up as Elsa and her sister for Halloween, and just because. This girl looks just like Elsa but is far older than the standard demographic. The similarities are uncanny, the facial expression with that smirk and squint going on is golden. Elsa fans everywhere couldn’t help but love this one.

The Riddler from Batman

The Riddler was a fictional supervillain who appeared in a few of the DC comic books. He is most famous for being the nemesis of Batman. Here we have actor Neil Patrick Harris looking just like him! We needed to see him side by side with the Riddler to see the commonalities. The jawline, the megawatt smile, and the long roman nose make it all similar.

Carl from Up

We spoke about Russell from Up, now we have a person who looks just like Carl from the film. Disney and Pixar went all out of the film’s production, making an animated masterpiece that only they know how to do. Carl’s character is that of an old man who is super stubborn and is not about to fold due to a conglomerate trying to oust him from his home.

Leela from Futurama

This poor woman was looking a lot like Leela from Futurama thanks to either bad plastic surgery or a bug bite! Leela from Futurama is a one-eyed alien whose voice is done by famed actress Katey Sagal. Leela is the captain of the ship and takes no prisoners whatsoever. The woman being compared to Leela is in a hospital (so bug bite it is) and has two eyes, but we can only see one.

Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty

In Sleeping Beauty there were three fairies who watched over Aurora. One of the fairies was the blue one who was named Merryweather. This older woman on the left had Merryweather in her thoughts when she dressed one morning, looking like the live version of the elder fairy. As we all know, Aurora ends up going back to the castle and prick her finger on the spindle before being rescued by the prince.

Mrs. Potato Head

Rapper Nicki Minaj always has very animated makeup on. She loves purples and pinks as her makeup palate but sometimes she goes a little too far. Here we see Minaj loooking very much like Mrs. Potato Head! The purple eye shadow, red lips, fake eyelashed, large teeth, and over all almost too perfect complexion. Mrs. Potato Head is known to us from the game and from Toy Story.

Consuela from Family Guy

Our favorite housekeeper who doesn’t speak English on the show Family Guy is seen here live and in the flesh. Whether her name is also Consuela remains to be seen but man she looks like the animated character. Family Guy is still on the air and is as inappropriate as ever. The Seth MacFarlane show discusses topics like infidelity, plastic surgery, loving (or not) your children, work, and in-laws.

Ned Flanders from The Simpsons

Another Simpsons character we love and hate at the same time, Ned Flanders! Here we see the character of Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) looking exactly like the religious character of The Simpsons. The buttoned-down pressed shirt, the glasses, and the mustache make the two look like twins. It really is lucky to have two characters from vastly different shows look so much alike.
