Natalie Coughlin started competitive swimming at the age of six and won 12 NCAA titles while being in school as well as five U.S National titles. In 2004, she joined the U.S Olympic Swimming Team and won two gold medals for the 100m backstroke and the 800m freestyle relay.

In 2008 she set a new record for the 100m backstroke, being the first woman to swim the distance in less than a minute.  She won another gold medal in 2012 for the 100m swim and a silver for the 400m freestyle relay. Although her athletic career has ended, she is still very successful today and is a brand ambassador and investor in a frozen food company.
