While graduating high school used to be the pinnacle of achievement for many in education, these days most high school seniors are focusing their final years on how they can get themselves into the best college or university they can. SATs take over their lives, college visits become a regular occurrence during vacations, and everyone tries to do as many extra curricular activities as they can to help boost their college applications.

Teenagers take on all sorts of extra curriculars, whether it be joining the yearbook committee, being in the school play, running for student government, or taking on volunteer projects. And of course, there’s always the popular option of being part of a school’s athletic department. Student athletes are often revered for their athletic prowess, and their ability to bring positive attention to the school when they are victorious. There’s a reason that plenty of popular Hollywood movies and TV shows have centered around high school athletes, especially football players.

Football players work very hard at their sport, all the while knowing that they could get hit pretty hard by their opponents while doing it. For some, their time playing football in high school is as far as their glory will reach. But for others, they get offered the opportunity to go to the next level, playing college football. From there some even get drafted to the NFL.
