Even the mention of the name has us feeling all warm inside. Do you ever really grow up when there’s Disneyland to be explored? We thought not. And do you know what? We don’t want to either! However, that doesn’t mean we have to throw our health out the window on our vacation. These top tips on how to be healthy at Disneyland will give you a chance to let your hair down and look after yourself – the perfect combination.

Grab some fruit

Throughout the Disney parks, you might happen to notice all the food stalls that line the side of the paths. They offer just about any kind of snack you can imagine, including plenty of fruit and vegetables that will keep you fuelled for your long day of exploring the park. From dried fruit to slices of fresh offerings, they have just about anything you can imagine all within easy reach.

Get power walking

Yup, you read that right. Disney offers a power walking session at all their resort hotels. The Get Up and Go Power Walk is a fast-paced stroll that will see you covering two miles through their parks. The best bit? You won’t be weaving in and out of guests as the walks take place at 6am long before the park gates even open. You’ll have never seen it so empty before.

Count your steps

You probably think that you spend a lot of your time waiting in line when at Disneyland? However, you might just be amazed to see how many steps you add in racing between the rides. Counting your steps could help you to realize just how far you’re walking after all, and even how many calories you’re burning along the way. You don’t have to get a sweat on to help your fitness as Disney will help to prove.

Take advantage of free water

Staying hydrated is important at all times of the day, no matter where you are. However, it’s even more essential when you are up and on your feet all day in the sunshine to make sure you are topped up with water. As well as taking any opportunity to grab a drink from their water fountains, Disney also offer free cups of water at their restaurants. Now is your chance to take full advantage of their freebie!

Try cold pickles

Hear us out; they aren’t as strange as they might sound. In fact, cold pickles are the perfect way to cool down after a morning in the sun at Disneyland. Plus, they are sold just about everywhere in the parks meaning you’ll never be far away from a refreshing treat. As if that wasn’t enough already, pickles are an excellent source of electrolytes that will help replace any you have lost from all that exercise.

Keep healthy snacks

It can be easy to fall into mindless eating when you’re waiting in line. However, if you don’t have any on you, then you won’t be able to eat them, right? Making sure you’re fully loaded with everything from snackable cheese to pieces of fruit are the best way to keep your cravings at bay while still making sure you’re staying healthy. It’s a win-win situation.

Explore the menus

As with anywhere, there are going to be a host of sugary and deep-fried meals on offer in the parks. Now is a time to test your strength – and eyesight -as you scan these boards for the healthier options. Don’t be fooled by seeing a salad and automatically thinking it’s the best option either. Sometimes, it’s best to ask for the dressing on the side, or even going meatless, to make sure you stick within your daily calorie allowance.
We can hear the call of the park from here, and we just can’t wait to get inside. Thankfully, we no longer have to sacrifice health for fun as we now know we can be healthy at Disneyland and still enjoy ourselves.
