1. Okapi

If you ever want to see a cross between giraffes and zebras, head straight to Central Africa where you can watch the Okapi go about its business. Popularly known as forest giraffe or zebra giraffe, Okapi is native to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Though the striped marks on the animal’s body closely resemble zebras, the Okapi is more closely related to the giraffe.

2. Marine iguana

The scenic Galapagos Islands are home to this magnificent creature, as well as a large number of other unique animals that only exist in this isolated chain of islands. The marine iguana goes where no other lizard dares to go – under the sea. The iguana can dive up to 30 feet into the water. Its unique ability to swim has earned it the title of marine reptile.

3. White tiger

Despite what it might sound like, the white tiger is not a different subspecies of tiger. These tigers belong to the royal Bengal tiger family. Their unique color is due to their white fur (a result of pigmentation).

These magnificent creatures are found in different parts of India such as Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh.

4. Angora rabbit

Native to Turkey, the Angora rabbit has a unique coat that includes extra long fibers. They were first domesticated for their fur, which is soft and valuable. Because of this, the Angora rabbit was among the first species of rabbits to be domesticated.

5. The maned wolf

Our next one is one of the most unique animals on this planet.Found in South America, the maned wolf is known for its unique body markings. Though these markings closely resemble those found on the bodies of foxes, the two animals are not related. Despite its name, the maned wolf is also not from the wolf family.

6. Sally lightfoot crab

Nicknamed the red rock crab, the Sally lightfoot crab is found in abundance along the coasts of North America, Central America, and Mexico. This incredible creature has five pair of legs.

7. Red Panda

This exceptionally cute and shy creature is similar to house cats in terms of size. Found in China, the red panda has a long tail and a distinct fur that it wraps around its body to keep itself warm during winters.

8. Liger

This creature a cross between a male lion and a female tiger. Ligers dwarf both of their parents in size and are known to be very good swimmers.
