This is Us is is one of the most acclaimed and beloved drama series right now, but the real life age gaps have us saying “This is Confusing.” Rebecca, portrayed by the lovely Mandy Moore, is the matriarch of the Pearson family and she requires three hours to cake on makeup for her to appear older because she is actually younger than all three of her on-screen children.
Moore is 34, but the actors who play her children, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, and Justin Hartley, are 37 or older. It all makes sense, though, because the series takes place throughout different stages of their lives and Moore plays Rebecca throughout, but the others require younger versions of themselves.
