9 Countries That Will Still Be In War In 2016

It seems like you can’t escape the talk of war all over the news recently. Which countries will still be battling in 2016?

It seems like the end is nowhere near nigh for the poor people of Syria. With rebel groups still causing havoc and now other countries getting involved, this could be a war that has years left to run.

The Iraq War has been going on since 2003 now, and last year we saw even more insurgencies being added to the mess. It’s unlikely that this battle is going to end anytime soon, especially now the Civil War has begun.

This is a fairly new war compared to some of the others, but it’s looking to be quite a dangerous one. The War of Donbass is raging in some parts of Ukraine, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to end imminently.

This is the oldest war on our list, having started in 1948. The conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is an often bloody and dangerous one. There have been around too many deaths since it began.

Another war that has technically been going on for quite some time, this country has been in battles since 1978. It’s also one of the bloodiest on our list, with an estimated 2 million people killed since the beginning.

There are several wars going on in Nigeria, including the Islamist Insurgency, the communal conflicts, and the Conflict in the Niger Delta. This is a country plagued by war, none of which due to end soon.

Another African country to make it onto our list, yet one that doesn’t receive much news coverage. There’s both the Somalian Civil War and the War in Somalia for innocents to contend with almost daily.

The Yemeni Crisis has been going on since 2011, but things have taken a more dangerous turn with the Yemeni Civil War reaching full force this year. Saudi Arabia are also part of this ongoing conflict.

This one is slightly different, but truly needs a place on our list. The Mexican Drug War has been ongoing since 2006 and it’s thought that over 6,000 people have been killed already this year, mainly by drug traffickers.
